Daisy Mitchell

Ms. Mitchell has more than fifteen years of experience in the art and design industry and has demonstrated expertise in concept development, start-up management, development of training programs, and group strategy.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia College, Chicago in 1995 after completing the majority of her degree work at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  Daisy received her Masters Degree in Painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2000. 

As a member of the Carlson Family Foundation Board of Trustees, Ms. Mitchell brings an extensive network of potential supporters as well as local resources.  She serves on the Programming Committee for the Board.  She is also a member of the Carlson Family Council since 1998. In her role as Coordination Committee Chair for the Carlson Family Council, Ms. Mitchell has extensive experience in Board Development and Group Facilitation.  She currently serves on the Lake Country Montessori School Building Committee and is familiar with the complex issues and challenges of developing and maintaining an educational institution.

Ms Mitchell also serves as the Chair of the KIPP Minnesota Board.  The mission of KIPP Minnesota is to empower all KIPP students with the knowledge, character and leadership skills to graduate from college.  KIPP Minnesota will open two KIPP middle schools in Minneapolis in 2008.

Ms. Mitchell lives in Minneapolis with her partner, Wendy Nelson, and their two young children, Sadie, age 3 and Martin, age 5.
