Admission Possible is a nonprofit organization working to make college admission possible for promising low-income high school students by providing them with free, intensive after-school programming including:
· ACT/SAT test preparation
· Intensive admissions and financial aid consulting
· Guidance in the transition to college
Admission Possible History The organization began as a pilot program in the Twin Cities of Minnesota with 35 high school juniors in 2000 and has grown rapidly while achieving an impressive 99 percent college acceptance rate for participating students. The organization now operates in two geographic sites – the Greater Twin Cities and Greater Milwaukee metro areas – serving more than 1,300 low-income high school juniors and seniors in more than 17 partner high schools.
Admission Possible – Greater Milwaukee began operation in the spring of 2008 and will begin serving approximately 60 high school juniors in fall 2008 at partner high schools in the metro area. With community support in place, Admission Possible – Greater Milwaukee intends to grow to serve 400 students a year by 2011-2012. We are currently in conversation with potential school partners and are working collaboratively with the other college preparatory programs in the Greater Milwaukee area to ensure support for the maximum number of low-income students possible each year.
