Admission Possible Year-End Graduation Celebration

– Nearly 1,000 low-income students celebrated this school year’s achievements at the ninth annual Admission Possible-Greater Twin Cities Year-End Graduation Celebration May 22 at the University of Minnesota’s Northrop Auditorium. The seniors at the celebration successfully completed a free two-year college prep program through Admission Possible.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – This year, 10 Admission Possible students have received national recognition through their selection for the competitive Gates Millennium Scholarship, bringing the total number of Admission Possible Students who have won the award since it began to 28. The scholarship is supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and gives students a full ride to college, even covering the cost of a doctorate degree in some fields of study.

Admission Possible is Recruiting Low-Income Sophomores

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Admission Possible, the nonprofit organization providing college preparatory programming to low-income high school students for free, is recruiting now through mid-April for sophomores interested in obtaining a college education.  Applications are being accepted from eligible sophomores by Admission Possible staff at each of the program’s Greater Twin Cities partner high schools.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Admission Possible partnered with LearningWorks and the Minnesota Minority Education Partnership to put on the third annual Summer Enrichment Fair on March 6. The fair offered low-income students from the Twin Cities metro area access to summer programs to keep them learning over the long break from classroom activities.

St. Paul Nonprofit Offers College Grads Meaningful Work

St. Paul, Minn. – Admission Possible offices in St. Paul and Milwaukee are recruiting to fill more than 60 AmeriCorps positions in the next two months. The nonprofit offers free college prep programming to promising, low-income high school students and is looking for high school and college coaches, community and events organizers and external relations team members.

Students Search for Colleges Close to Home

St. Paul, Minn. – More than 400 low-income high school students will fan out across the Twin Cities Wednesday and Thursday in search of the perfect college. They’re a part of Admission Possible’s Metro Visit Days, which offers Admission Possible students a chance to tour one of six institutions without leaving the metro.

Admission Possible Students Scare up 10,000-Pound Donation for Foodshelf

St. Paul, Minn. Admission Possible students weren’t looking for candy when they knocked on doors across the Twin Cities on October 31. They were searching for cans of peas, rolls of paper towels and packets of Ramen. More than 750 staff and students in the college access program went “trick-or-treating” for canned goods in 13 metro neighborhoods to support Minnesota’s Emergency Foodshelf Network.
